Im going camping this weekend with a couple guys. I want the perfect music playlist. Any suggestions?
So right, music and nature aren’t gods made creation. But i love my music, and I enjoy being in the woods with my ipod radio jammin to tom petty around the camp fire. Is that so wrong? I think not.

thank you for your suggestions, I have listened to all the songs and picked my new playlist from them.

For the the ride there, right? I love a good mix, but I absolutly think it is a no no to play music while camping so that other people or wildlife will be disturbed. Not trying to be an A-hole, but that’s how I see it.
Of course I do not know what type of camping you are doing, but n general I find it awful nice to just unplug during the time I’m out in the woods.

    for road trippin’ music though….
    Greatful dead, Terrapain station
    Phish, Rift
    Frank Zappa, Apostophe/overnight sensation
    Beastie boys, check your head
    butthole surfers, Hairway to Steven
Fela Kuti (any thing you can get your hands on will rock on a road trip)
The Flaming Lipps, At war with the mystics
    Make Up, I want some
    Beck, Mellow Gold

    Ditto on the no-no.

If I’m just hanging aroud a cabin, then I really don’t mind music, but in a campground or on the trail, if I hear someone’s boom box going I tend to get really annoyed. People go camping to get away from noise.

Although there is nothing wrong with guitars, banjos, mandos, dobros, fiddles, etc. around the fire or on the cabin porch. Willie D

You are there to enjoy nature so how about one of those relaxation tapes. You can maybe choose a nice waterfall sound. It is alot better than the real thing. NOT C Cody C

You already mentioned the greatest musician ever. Tom Petty is amazing. I also like the Steve Miller Band. You could also get some easy stuff like Jack Johnson or John Mayer. Paolo Nutini is my new favorite easy listening singer. His song “new shoes” is awesome.

Are you going campground camping or backwoods camping? I personally love my music and I love the outdoors, but i do not prefer to mix the two. If you are going in a campground you should keep it down, but if you are in the backwoods, do as you like.

You could try just listening to nature. i find it very relaxing jeeperman1
