Okay basically I am looking for somewhere to camp in So. California. I reside in San Diego so I would like to go no futher than about 2 hours away in any direction. I would prefer a place in woods type setting. A place to be able to swim is very important to us. Anyone know any fun, pretty places to camp?
Yeah I have been to La Jolla Indian Reservation and didn’t like it at all. It was very rowdy and pretty dirty. A lot of ghetto people. That is why I threw in the woods thing because La Jolla is more of campground than real camping…yuck!

Have you looked at Palomar Mountain State Park? It’s got the woods, nice campsites, and it’s gorgeous. No swimming up on the mountain top, but you would be able to do a day trip to the La Jolla Indian Reservation and go innertubing on the river there, provided there’s enough water flow. You can camp at the Indian Reservation, but I’ve heard it gets pretty rowdy. campaholicone2000
