other than in joying the camp fire , a quiet and peace full sleep under the stars, just in joy the back to nature

That is a beautiful area. Go for a hike or a long walk. At night, sit real quiet and just listen. You will soon hear many different animals and hopefully see a few too. While sitting, think about how many years those trees have lived. Soon you will be in touch with nature. Have a great camping trip and don’t worry what to do, just be yourself, have fun and listen to nature.

Take the tour to Crystal Cave, tickets available at the Lodgepole Visitor Center

Hike to Tokopah Falls and swim in the river on the way to and from

Check out the General Sherman Tree, largest tree in the world

Hike to Pear Lake for some alpine scenery

Go to Crescent Meadow in the morning or late afternoon to see bears (also called the jewell of the sierra by John Muir)

    Sunset at Morro Rock

    Rafting the Kern River

Some pics of the area I took a couple years ago…

All of the answers up till now are good, but you might want to record the fun camping and the beauty of the park by taking a camera and snapping as many pictures as you can
