k.peachy asked:

I’m wanting to go camping with my cousin, but she is 35 weeks pregnant.
Is there anything that she can’t do? Is it a good idea for her to go?
We’d be sleeping in huge tents, with air mattresses, and restroom facilities near by, and cell phone reception is good in the area.

If she has a mattress then its fine but sleeping on the floor might be not so good. ღ38 ωεεкş αℓσηgღвαвч♂due 3.18

I would give her doctor a quick call and see what they say. Personally, if she’s feeling up to it I don’t think there would be a problem but how far from a hospital with a maternity ward will she be? She’s not full-term but that doesn’t mean the baby won’t come early. A

should not be a problem. crazy8eddie

I’m 21 weeks pregnant, and, honestly, there is no way that I would sleep on the ground, air mattress or not. LOL. Besides, do you know how hard it is to get up and down off the ground like that when you’re pregnant? I’m having a hard time getting in and out of the car!

Anyway… at 35 weeks, that’s probably not the best idea, cell phone coverage or not. Go have a girl’s day, if you want to spend time together. If you’re both determined to go, at least make sure you get approval from her doctor first. If she trips or falls during your camping expedition, that could go very badly. yellow fuzzy

I think it would be ok unless there is a lot of walking or hiking involved and make sure she isn’t to far away from a hospital or some place safe she could go if God forbid she went into early labor or something. ITS A GIRL!!!!!!!

of course she can go camping. She should increase her vitamin D intake to help boost her immunity in case she is bitten by insects or plans on swimming in the lake or river. Roxinjay

Why couldn’t she go? She may have to take it easy when it comes to things like walking(i.e. hiking, if you plan on going) but other than that I don’t see any problems with it as long as you guys aren’t going out of state or something like that. I’d stay nearby where you/she lives in case she starts experiencing contractions. Noah’s Mommy is expecting #2

Than she should go and have a great time! It sounds like you have all the bases covered so if she is feeling up to it why not? It will be a lot easier today than when the baby comes!

Pregnant women can pretty much do any low impact activities it is just their mind set as to what they will do! Hope you have a wonderful weekend camping! Robyn M

thats a personal choice! there is nothing wrong with going camping at 35 weeks, as long as she is comfortable to do so! tell her that doing activities such as boating and things like that isnt a good idea, but theres nothing wrong with her going and laying out and relaxing! people freak out when they are pregnant! if she is comfortable and doesnt feel like she is going to go into labor then yea she can go! i would however check out the nearest hospitals just in case that baby decides to come early lol!! babies tend to come at very unexpected times! tell her to try and make a dr. apt and see if she is dialated or looks like she would be going into labor soon! then she might feel more comfortable going! mE

Heck yeah! Just because she’s pregnant doesn’t mean she can’t tent camp. Calling her doctor to verify wouldn’t be a bad idea, especially if she is a high-risk or anything (that wasn’t said).

I’d say the only thing she’ll be concerned about is where the bathroom is! I went tubing down the Guadalupe River 7 months pregnant and lost my tube in some rapids. I always stayed very active and my son is the same way now. Healthy and active!

    Have fun camping! adena j

I think that’s a question better left up to her doctor; no one here knows if she has any health conditions that may prevent her from going camping, if there’s a risk that she could go into early labor, if she’s had any complications with her pregnancy…I would check with her doctor first because even if there’s good cell phone reception you never know what may happen and if there’s help, hospitals, etc. near and available in case she needs them.

Personally I don’t think I would go being so close to term, but if her doctor okays it and she wants to go, then go for it! But have her talk to her doctor first. Good luck. Mia
