My husband and I are planning on taking our three year old and four month old camping next weekend. My three year old has been camping before, one of my brother’s took her camping a couple weeks back when they went fishing. I know my four month old wouldn’t sleep in a sleeping bag but I doubt our travel cot would fit in our tent so any ideas what he could sleep in? Where we are camping has toilets and a shower block so getting them washed and dressed should be a problem.

We are looking for great camping areas north of San Francisco along the coast. We want to stay fairly close to the ocean, have dogs, bikes, hiking shoes and a tent. We will go as far as the Oregon border but hopefully not that far.

We hope to stay in 2-3 different locations with different environments.

I know some places charge a small fee to go camping in crown land, so I’m wondering where these places are. I’d assume they would eb better then just some random spot. Only requirements for a spot is that it needs to be near a lake and outhouses. Id rather not crap in a hole and camping toilets are like 100$..
