He is due next month and I want to take a camping trips with him a soon as possible. We usually do backpack camping so a sling or wrap is ideal for the lightweight fabric. I live and camp in Texas so something that won’t make him overheat is needed. While there won’t be any real climbing, a stroller would not be useful for our favorite places.

My baby is due mid-April and I was wondering how long I should wait before we go camping or if I need to wait at all. We just got a new camper so she would be inside of it the whole time, but I’m worried about the campfire smoke and things like that. Any advice?

We are going camping this weekend and the weather is supposed to be 90-95 degrees. We have a 2 week old.. what is too hot? There will be a lake and we always have a car to jump into with the air conditioner…

Anyone have a checklist. I have a 7 month old, breastfed, baby boy who now sits in a high chair eating solids as well as breastfeeding. He is a calm baby who now crawls.

What the heck? Why does a kid need to be clean camping? I’ve got to say my little guy gets a bath just once a week which is more than fine and keeps his skin from drying.

I went camping with my son when he was only 3 weeks old so I have a good idea of what I need. But that was easier because he didn’t go anywhere and we were in a trailer in a national park. Now he is 10 months old, crawling, we will be in a tent, and it will be out in the middle of nowhere. I just want some suggestions on what I might wish I had brought to help me out.

We’re thinking of camping on the beach at the end of the summer. We have a large tent, and we’d take the pack-n-play for him. He’ll be 11 months at the end of August when we plan on going. What do y’all think? Good idea/bad idea…why?

I’m still a while away from having the child, but we would like to plan on camping sometime after the baby is born. Kind of like our first family outing together. When would be an appropriate age to go stay overnight in the woods with our baby, or even just a day at the river with us?

Obviously we have to be careful about keeping him cool and out of the sun, but other than that when would it be appropriate?
