Where is the best place to go camping with 2 hours of Los Angeles?

I looked into Mount Pacifico and Crystal Lake in the Angeles Forest, Lake Arrowhead etc. But I have no idea where it is nice at this time of the year. I would like there to be a lake.
Please do not just give me a list of 20 campgrounds. Just give me 2-3 campgrounds with a lake that you rate over all others. That will make it a lot easier on me as I have never been camping anywhere here.

I am looking especially for southern california. I have previously only been to camping places that have been pretty dry and didn’t have a lot of trees there. So I was hoping for spots that make you feel a lot more in nature and preferrably also have a lake there. Thanks for any responses!
Among all these that you name, what is your personal favorite? Is there also great camping close to sequoia or yosemeti park?
